Just a Thought on Recycling

Last week we attended a recycling event in Washington, DC. The presenter at the event put forth an obivous, yet overlooked idea on recycled products.

You see, your community sells the recycled material you put in the bin to suppliers who then make the material into new products.

The more you buy products made of recycled material, the more demand there is for your bottles, cans, paper, etc. The more demand, the higher the price your community can charge for the stuff in your recycling bin.

Next time you are buying toilet paper, paper towels, printer paper, plastics, etc. try to buy recycled. You are reducing demand on our natural resources and increasing demand for your own recycled materials.
